Wire ducts, raceways, and their accessories are essential components in the management and organization of electrical wiring and cables. These products are designed to neatly enclose and protect wires and cables within a building or structure, ensuring both safety and aesthetic integrity. Wire ducts are typically enclosed conduits that provide a dedicated pathway for electrical wires, while raceways are open or covered channels that allow for easy access and management of the contained cables. The main functions of these systems include protecting wires from external damage, preventing electrical hazards, and facilitating future maintenance and upgrades by organizing cables in an accessible manner.
The primary uses of wire ducts and raceways include installations in commercial buildings, industrial settings, and residential areas where multiple wires need systematic routing and protection. Characteristics such as flame retardancy, resistance to corrosion, and durability against physical impact are common, catering to various environmental conditions and regulatory standards. Several manufacturers known for producing high-quality wire ducts and raceways include Panduit, Legrand, and Hoffman, among others.
